William Robson glass designer concentrates on making creative and interesting glass pieces born out of his experimental approach.
William works with a range of glass making and design techniques, including fusing, slumping, stained, cut, frit, painted and segmented. He holds ongoing glass design workshops, in his studio, beginners courses in Dichroic glass jewellery making and by arrangement weekend courses in fusing and slumping. Group sizes maximum 4. William's glass design courses take you through the various processes i.e. slumping- involving heating glass in kiln to very high temperatures, waiting for the consistency to "slump" or turn into a fluid and glossy consistency and then "bending" it or slumping this into molds. This mixture then gets soaked and flattens out into the mold shapes. He will instruct on design, types of glass, glass suppliers, cutting safely, and colouring. You will also get a fully detailed booklet of his course content.
