This very experienced artist and mural painter shares a studio with her artist husband in Bream in the Forest of Dean. Carmen prefers working with oils for her paintings. Some of her favourite themes are intriguing landscapes, moody cloud formations, dramatic skyscapes and ruined buildings. Recently she has become particularly and increasingly inspired by water-related subjects: sea and riverscapes, shells, starfish, ripples, reflections and marine life. She is developing her abstract work along with life drawing and portraiture. She has recently transformed Lydneys' Bathurst Open air pool with a huge exuberant and colourful mural of palm trees and sunshine. Carmen really enjoys creating murals and enjoys the challenge of tackling large scale designs. Sometimes working in the open air, trying to achieve the same luminosity and sublety of colour with masonry paint on porous brick walls as she would with artists' oil pigments on fine grain canvas.
