Cedrics' soul searching and compelling work can be seen now at "The Stuckists" Exhibition at The Guidhall Arts Centre Gloucester until August 30th. Free Entry. Cedric's work spans painting, mixed media and sculpture with drawing a passion. He taught Foundation Degree at Cheltenham and Diploma courses at Gloscat for many years. He's also taught at Stroud,Gloscat & Royal Forest of Dean Colleges. He ran a Community Screnprint Workshop in conjunction with Courtyard Arts Trust. His exuberance, philosophy and enthusiasm well remembered by students as well as his love of the skill of Drawing. Cedric says " I consider drawing to be the very basis of whatever I may eventually arrive at, in whatever medium I use. I think tonally - the play of highlights and shadows and the space around. The images I arrive at may arise from something observed but are also coloured by Myth from our collected past and my own present. I want to hint at things that, maybe, never happened except in my imagination." Cedric often explores the relationship between animal and humans - ourselves. The using of masks, of changing our inner identity. The dark side is expressed often with irony, always with vibrant use of colour and not a little humour.
