David is a professional award winning photographer. He was made "Photographer of the Year" by The Garden Media Guild in 2004 and 2006.
He worked in London as a stills photographer for top advertising and design companies. When he moved to the Forest of Dean he became fascinated by the depth of history, tradition and landscape around him. To celebrate 25 years of taking insightful photgraphs of the Forests' unique character, his much awaited Photographic Exhibition "Spirit of the Forest" at The George Gallery in Newnham on Severn was a great success. He works in a converted chapel amidst some of the prettiest scenery in The Forest of Dean. David is a master with lighting and his photographs are often mistaken for oil paintings. His work shows great creative empathy, a love of the organic and of landscape,of ordinary people in everyday surroundings. Whether taking spontaneous portraits or styled images his work above all has integrity.
Known throughout the world by top international floral designers and specialist interest groups, his richly photographed books are a delight Best sellers "Spirit of the Rose" "Beyond Mere Words & "A Flower In My Hand" plus many more. David has recently published more books - please call him for stockists or sales. He often gives illustrated lecture tours for the R.H.S. He also runs photography workshops. Look out for his glorious series of greetings cards - 'Spirit of the Forest', on sale at Forest Guild Shop in Newnham or direct from him. David has travelled the world giving talks and of course taking pictures - recently back from Ireland, Scotland, Japan, U.S.A. & Pakistan.
