This fascinating and picturesque shop, The Forest Guild, is situated in the lovely Georgian village of Newnham on Severn many goods are made in the Forest of Dean. Christmas gifts now displayed. Newnham is in a conservation area, on the banks of the wild river Severn. The Guild Shop is situated on the High Street, in a cobbled floor 15th Century stable adjoining an ancient half timbered former Inn. This entrancing quality crafts and gift shop offers a very wide and eclectic range of goods including Bridgewater Pottery. Recently Emma Bridgewater has produced a Special Design Forest of Dean Mug exclusively for the Forest Guild Shop. There's a varied and ever changing selection of beautifully crafted items and collectables, from both local craftspeople and national makers. As well as locally designed silver jewellery by Jan Fryer, wood crafts,pottery, antique jewellery, hand made soap, textiles, candles, greetigs cards & local prints, the Forest Guild Shop stock functional goods such as pretty plates and teapots. Many items make ideal special occassion gifts. Children will love coming here! The shop always has a great selection of up to the minute toys and goods. You can also commission your hand painted House Sign in a variety of materials. Upstairs the antique furniture & collectables gallery with well chosen quality items from Victorian furniture, Windsor Chairs, Desks. small tables, all beautifully restored. The Forest Guild Shop is open from 10am-1pm & 2pm - 5.30pm Tuesday - Saturday inclusive. The floors are Cobbled and as beftting such a wonderful old house, slightly wobbly.
