Graham works overlooking the wild River Severn and has built a garden studio where he holds small informal courses in painting & printmaking. He was an excellent head of art when teaching and his courses are very enjoyable.Widely exhibited, Graham's work is vibrant and enlivening. His interest in natural forms is most evident in his wood block printing, a discipline that requires skills in designing and cutting. Graham finds this process satisfying because it is exacting compared with the fluidity of his painting. Always welcomes visitors. Call first. Graham has recently completed a new series of paintings - concentrating on the River Severn and it's haunting scenes of abandoned boatyards and trows. He is also an excellent muralist and has been known to produce wicked cartoons.
When starting out , Graham described himself as "an abstract painter & printmaker". His paintings were large, colourful, dealing with the interactions of visual shapes and rythms. He still uses a rich palette of colour, his preferred medium is oils and his many years of teaching combined with overseas travels has led to him developing a more representational style..
