Jonathan started taking photographs in the late eighties. He gained his licentiateship of the Royal Photographic Society in 1995. Jon also runs Gnosis Consultancy and offers a range of IT services including designing & building websites. Recently Jonathan designed and installed a new database for this website.
Through the works of Ansel Adams and Fay Godwin Jonathan became fascinated with the emotive power of the black and white image and its ability to portray often unseen facets of the landscape and our influence upon it. Frequently using calm and patient juxtapositions between natural beauty and human detritus, he creates shapes and images that highlight how we have refined and reconstructed the landscape. Through these photographs Jonathan hopes to elicit an emotional and thoughtful response from the viewer.
Jonathan is working towards an RPS Associateship with a project based on the Forest of Dean.
