Jeweller and interior designer Mary, known as "Sparkly Mary" is showing and selling her innovative range of Jewellery, Interior Panels and Splashbacks at the impressive event "Art Design and a Taste of Summer" at Blenheim Castle nr. Woodstock Oxfordshire. May 29 -31st. Her first love is painting, exploring colour & textures. Her speciality is her oil painting and she has explored the art of silk painting, developing new techniques through experimentation. She studied Visual Communications at Birmingham and spent 8 years doing picture restoration under a master restorer in the Malverns.
Mary has been developing her Sparkly Panels for a range of uses for many years. She has invented a method of laminating her lustrous handpainted silk layers between sheets of acrylic, using foil, holographic threads and other sparkly materials to create a really brilliant 3d effect. The finished material is a hard sheet and can be sawn, sanded, polished and drilled. Mary uses dyes that can be vibrant or subtle, the resulting panels offer a reflective shimmer of colour that moves with the light even though it is on a flat plane. Innovative uses for this process i.e. splashbacks, screens, wall dividers, panels in kitchens, bathrooms, showers, or anywhere your imagination takes you! Recently added, really great range of light catching GUITAR scratchplates made to order, colourful sparkly place mats, coasters and garden mobiles. Her range of jewellery ismost eye catching and very popular at her events.
Mary lives in a beautiful part of the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire and welcomes visitors by appointment.
