Mollie Meager has lived in the Forest of Dean for many years and is a respected architectural glass designer and artist creating beautiful, vibrant pieces all Made in the Forest of Dean. She also runs Glass Painting/Making Workshops. Mollie Meager is a member of the Gloucestershire Guild of Craftsmen and the Contemporary Glass Society and has gained the following Awards - Project Award South West Arts Board & Development of Work Award, South West Arts Board. Working with light, colour & space, Mollie enjoys making windows for buildings. She uses paint & lead to block out the light, sand blasting and etching to hold the light and colour to colour the light. She is expert at working with painted,acid etched, stained, engraved, sandblasted and leaded glass. Commissions have included door & room glass panels, a Millenium Church stained glass window at Rous Leach near Evesham on the theme of Creation, painted windows in the Cinderford Clock Tower and many individual painted glass pieces for commissions. Mollie also makes exhibition glass panels and lights, they vary from small fragments to large multiple pieces. Sometimes they will tell a story and sometimes be completely abstract.
Mollie Meager as a creative glass artist has exhibited widely and has taken part in artist exchanges to Cuba. She has published an article for “Stained Glass Magazine” and contributed to “Design Source Book, Stained Glass” published by New Holland Publishing. Visits welcome, ‘phone first. Mollie is an active member of Transition and supporter of more allotments.
