Images coming soon. Ned Heywood established his Ceramics Workshop in Chepstow in 1983. Since then he has been continuously developing a wide range of unique skills, glazes and techniques As a thrower he produces astonishingly fine functional stoneware with amazingly vibrant glazes. He says he is "Very pleased, after 25 years of cursing and kicking the kiln that he's finally deduced the secret of consistently producing kiln loads of brilliant reduction fired copper red stoneware glazes". (This evidently is a problem that's tormented potters for thousands of years).

Currently more than half his work is commissioned commemorative & Heritage ceramics, mainly blue plaques and Heritage Trails. Ned has developed a range of novel techniques for applying lettering and images to ceramics. Most work is for town and city corporations & civic societies but he is still eager to make decorative pieces and individual original presentation pieces. This includes items such as plates for family celebrations, mugs, plaques, jugs etc. Do contact Ned to visit his studio.
