Sally achieved her B.A. Fine Arts at Cheltenham College of Art and did a Post Graduate at London University. She is a qualified teacher and has taught at Gloucester, Hereford, Manchester and Stockport Colleges mainly at Foundation level Art & Design. Sally finds great empathy with the landscapes that surround her, from the Severn Estuary the craggy wild coastline of Grunta in Devon. In Sally's remarkable new works she is exploring the ever changing colours and textures that make up the contours of the Severn Estuary. Her paintings are based on a mixture of exploring lines of spiritual forces experienced in landscapes and spaces of the south west where she lives. She also explores her emotional reactions and attachments to them. Sally is fascinated by the making of systematic marks, in perfect alignment to the landscape, often focusing on ley lines. She uses many different layers of paint and paper, the layers being metaphors for reclaiming her spiritual space.
