Sue Dubois is the originator of bigartweb, the forest & wye bigart Guide and the Big Art Group. "Art Attack!" the Forest of Deans' Arts Showcase is also Sue's event, attracting around 6,000 visitors. Sue has many years experience of exhibiting, marketing and promoting creative peoples' work. Her background as successful art director in the Music Business, work in t.v., media, advertising, marketing & lecturing qualifies her to spearhead promotion of the Dean & Wye's Creative People. Currently bigartweb is inviting artists from Gloucestershire to join. Capable of organising conferences, events, exhibitions, fairs and festivals from client brief, planning, budgeting through to press & publicity. Sue curated The Gallery at the Dean Heritage Museum, Forest of Dean for 5 years, showing over 120 diverse artists and launching the "Roll of Honour" project for the Forest of Dean History Society. She was commissioned by The Countryside Agency & Forestry Commission to manage The Dean Oak Travelling Exhibitions - ("Better Uses for Dean hardwoods)" She launched the project, transported 37 makers furniture & other works to five different locations and evaluated post-project. Owing to the success of this project the Dean Oak Co-operative and Sawmill was initiated by Tim Orson. One of her largest events was "Passage 2000"a Millennium event that united 2 communities (Newnham & Arlingham) aside the River Severn over a weekend of festivity and celebration. Notwithstanding the dangerous Severn Bore - the Royal Marines Assault Squadron Hovercrafts were persuaded to become the "ferries" across this ancient Passage. With National Media focus thousands of visitors enjoyed a memorable community Festival. The Jettys brilliantly designed by Tim Orson built by volunteers & sponsored by Keith Bell. The Millennium Marker - a steel sculptural Telescope stands today at Newnham on the Riverbank as a permanent "link" between the two communities designed by blacksmith Steve Bluett. (see his page).
